Why Cite Your Sources?

Citing your sources shows that you’ve taken your information from reliable sources and gives credit to the work of others.  You must give written credit for sources of information you use for your work, whether from print or online sources to avoid plagiarism. This includes  text, graphics, works of art, compositions, symbols, sayings, cartoons, excerpts, and quotations and more.
