Instruments are required. Most families rent instruments from local music stores. This is a great option when students are trying out band for the first time. Sometimes families already own an instrument or borrow one from a friend. If this is the case, please have an instrument repair person inspect the instrument to make sure it is in good working order before coming to band. We want the student to be successful on their instrument and that is a challenge if the instrument is not working properly. GHMS has a limited number of instruments that can be rented to families. There is a rental fee to off site the cost of the end of the year repair.
